As most of you know, Bennett was born with an extra long smile. Macrostomia or Tessier 7 is a type of cleft that occurs in 1:300,000 births. These lateral clefts account for less than 1% of all clefts.
We are quickly approaching surgery day to repair the lip and muscle. My momma heart is feeling all sorts of emotions. I love his sweet smile and the thought of changing it hurts my heart. However, I know it’s a necessary fix and will help with feedings tremendously! I keep reminding myself that I get to fall in love all over again with his “new” smile!
